National Center for Civil and Human Rights
Services ProvidedStrategic Master Planning
G&A was commissioned to create the Interpretive Master Plan for a proposed Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta, Georgia. The concept for the Center is to commemorate the historic struggle for African-American freedom and equality and also to serve as a space to continue the conversation about contemporary Civil and Human Rights issues. G&A held many community forums and workshops to gather local support and to assist in creating a vision for the visitor experience model and educational interface with the Atlanta School district. G&A conceived a vision that helped to define the type of architectural program that would be required for public exhibition space and the wide variety of public programming and educational spaces that would support the mission of the Center. G&A assisted the Center in defining development and operational budgets, staffing plans and a long range public programming vision.
