We are seeking a full-stack developer who specializes in creative frontend development. This position will report to the Media team’s Technical Director. It is on-site only in midtown Manhattan.

Responsibilities include; developing public-facing interactives for immersive installation environments in elegant, extensible and reusable code, creating intelligent, thoughtful application design/architectures with a strong focus on public presentation, rigorous usage and longevity, suggesting existing and potential libraries and frameworks, interaction methods and design paradigms with UX, Design, and Content team staff, working within organized software processes, version control and bug-tracking tools, creating tools and efficiencies for the tech team and art/content production pipelines, mentoring junior development staff, and writing clear, comprehensive, annotated technical documentation for developed applications.

Requirements are as follows; 4+ years experience in frontend web development creating reliable, artistically-designed applications with rich media content, 2+ years experience with a major .js framework like React or Vue, 2+ years experience developing flexible and reusable application frameworks or libraries, and tools for asset and content ingestion, demonstrated use of the full web stack (MEAN/MERN), familiarity with newer ES6 standards, familiar with Node.js, Express, and Electron, Strong experience loading large assets and handling multiple nodes/clients, experience with real-time rendering (WebGL, Three.js, PIXI), experience ingesting web-service/API-based data, demonstrated experience implementing (or recreating) pixel-perfect interface designs, fonts, UI element animations and scene/module transitions, experience working with websockets, comfortable in either waterfall or agile environments. Pluses if one has experience creating high-traffic/high-exposure applications for businesses or direct-to-user, public event-driven digital experiences and demonstrations, having a strong interest in immersive technologies and educational spaces, and experience with content management systems.
