Senior 3D Experience Designer
New York City

The Senior 3D Experience Designer will work closely with the Creative Director to design, coordinate and integrate exhibition experiences with, architecture, graphics and media. As a member of the team, you will have a variety of responsibilities including:


  • Demonstrate strong conceptual abilities, work in a team environment including Studio staff, sub-contractors, and client contacts
  • Lead internal Studio Charrettes, collaborate with other designers, media and content developers, and help guide the design process to achieve project goals
  • Think strategically, holistically, from the visitor experience point of view
  • Illustrate design concepts through a variety of mediums, including hand sketches, computer renderings and animations
  • Develop designs/Experiences from conceptual stage through final drawings
  • Maintain strong client relationships across multiple projects simultaneously


  • Travel to meetings and site visits as required by projects
  • If required, create and assemble bid package documentation
  • Play a lead role during Construction Administration phase with exhibit fabricators, architects and general contractors, reviewing shop drawings, creating or responding to RFIs, etc
  • Identify and anticipate production risks and develop solutions with CD and Client.
  • Fluent working with a large, diverse team of clients, consultants, and in-house designers.

Studio Life

  • Lead by example to mentor junior design staff and oversee their work across multiple projects, providing constructive feedback and clear instruction
  • Participate in the hiring process, review portfolios, set up interviews
  • Keep current on design trends, the latest technological innovations and products and share with the Studio


  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, and illustrative) and soft skills ­(social-emotional awareness, positive attitude, flexibility)
  • 8+ years of experience in exhibit design or related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
  • Proven experience in multiple phases of the design process, including conceptualization, design development, and construction documentation. (Construction administration experience is a plus)
  • Good knowledge of fabrication techniques and materials standards of exhibit design
  • Good knowledge of ADA guidelines and best practices for Universal Design
  • 2D and 3D proficiency in one or more relevant CAD programs including Rhino  and Vectorworks
  • Fluency with Adobe CS Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Word, Excel, and Google Suite
  • B.A. or M.A. in Exhibit Design, Architecture, or Industrial Design
