A New Creative Director for Washington DC!
Gallagher & Associates is thrilled to announce the appointment of Clare Brown as Creative Director for the Washington DC studio. With over twenty years of experience in design for cultural institutions, her work focuses on applying contemporary design practices to exhibitions and pushing innovation in the design of museum experiences. Her point-of-view, creative excellence, and vast experience in both design thinking and process will be an invaluable resource to our teams.
As Creative Director, Clare will play a critical role in accelerating our vision to fully integrate the DC Studio across digital and physical disciplines. She will define and maintain best-practices for creative excellence, and ensure our legacy is carried forward. Most importantly, she will be charged with raising the next generation of leaders, while also advancing our culture of innovation.
Before joining G&A, Clare most recently held the position of Chief of Design for the National Museum of American History. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Experience Design at the University of The Arts, London, where she has a strong focus on integrated and collaborative design practice—especially through collaborative facilitation.
Clare is an experienced educator and speaker, previously the Head of Program for the Masters of Design in Exhibition Design at the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at George Washington University. She presents nationally and internationally about exhibition design and has published several articles including a chapter in Suzanne MacLeod’s 2019 book, The Future of Museum and Gallery Design: Purpose, Process, Perception—a must-read for anyone interested in integrated design!
We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Clare Brown to the G&A family!
