Director of Media Production

We seek an exceptional and highly experienced Director of Media Production to take charge of our media program for our largest client project and our overall media project portfolio. As the Director, your initial responsibility will be overseeing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, collaborating with various media partners on behalf of this significant client project. Once the partners are selected, you will manage the digital media program, ensuring seamless coordination across cross-functional teams, successful project execution, and effective delivery of media solutions in close collaboration with our physical design team.

As a valuable addition to our leadership team, you will actively monitor inbound media project opportunities, contribute to business development efforts involving media, and closely oversee the progress of ongoing media projects. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the heads of various creative capabilities, the studio director, and the head of production to refine our media execution strategies and enhance project profitability. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the future of media-related services at G&A.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in either a media agency or experience design firm, specifically in a program or portfolio management role.
  • Demonstrated successful track record of leading large-scale cross-functional media programs, with budgets exceeding $15 million.
  • Proven expertise as a Technical Program Manager, including managing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and overseeing multiple media vendors to ensure the successful execution of complex media programs.
  • In-depth comprehension of all media channels, encompassing both digital and traditional platforms.
  • Possesses a strong perspective on the media landscape, supported by data, insights, market dynamics, and extensive knowledge of major competitors. Remains informed about industry trends and cultural applications relevant to media, while maintaining a sense of curiosity about emerging developments.
  • Displays an entrepreneurial mindset, capable of identifying new media opportunities and formulating strategies to bring them to fruition. Demonstrates the ability to present a comprehensive media philosophy, point of view (POV), and plan, leveraging data and insights.
  • Thrives in an environment that closely monitors project profitability and requires a thorough review of estimates to ensure financial success.
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.

Responsibilities

Media Partnerships and Contracting

  • Establish and maintain a reliable network of preferred media partners
  • Stand up scalable RFP process and operating model with the preferred media partners
  • Develop a system for monitor partner assignments per project
  • Partner with producers and project leads to form bespoke ecosystems of partners to be deployed to various client projects with complex media programs
  • Contribute to annual subcontractor budget forecasting

 

Media Portfolio Manager

  • Responsible for helping to shape the strategic development of our media offering aligned with our growth strategy and client demand.
  • Work with the Business Development team to write comprehensive RFI and RFP responses that apply strong media planning knowledge and strategic thinking
  • Participate in remote and in-person meetings and pitch presentations with potential clients
  • Actively contribute and advise on staffing/capacity planning and hiring for media capabilities
  • Drive improvements for how we deliver integrated design on all client projects – elevate the role of media in our projects. 
  • Monitor and (as needed) guide all projects possessing significant media scope toward profitability and other project health metrics. 

 

Client Media Program Management

  • Client-facing lead on day-to-day media programs and presentation delivery 
  • Oversee management of client media programs including but not limited to RFID, mobile applications, Film, VFX, digital interactive, emerging media, web, and more.
  • Provide knowledgeable POV on team structure and staffing requirements needed to successfully onboard and execute the potential client’s business
  • Work closely with internal and external teams to ensure media is well planned and executed within G&A standards
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the RFP process, addressing inquiries and providing timely updates on proposal status.
  • Conduct reviews and quality assurance checks on proposals to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Ability to craft a compelling narrative, incorporating all aspects of a strategic approach and plan, clearly illustrating the unique and powerful ways media can elevate visitor experiences
  • Ability to think on your feet quickly and clearly articulate answers to a variety of media-related questions
