Gallagher & Associates is looking for a diversely talented Lead Front-End Web Developer. As a Lead Front-End Web Developer, your main responsibilities will be architecting our web stack and developing large scale interactive experiences in a team environment. You will be responsible for mentoring and training junior and mid developers, as well as being involved in hiring additional members for your team. You will be reporting to the Director of Technology, but will be working in a dynamic environment where projects develop in a collaboration with a variety of departments including project management, visual design, ux design, etc.
G&A specializes in site specific interactive experiences. We are interested in using web technologies for traditional purposes (i.e. informational kiosks, micro sites), as well as challenging purposes such as locally distributed gaming mechanisms, WebGL realtime rendering, animations, and spatial exploration tools. The Lead Front Developer should help us navigate the current set of web technologies, and aid the team in pushing forward the limits of our web based interactives. You will work in collaboratively with internal design teams and with clients including renowned museums, corporations, universities and governmental organizations. Our projects range from traveling exhibits, to corporate centers, to large scale museums.
Responsibilities include; researching and guiding selection of front-end development stack / frameworks, architecting, developing and installing production ready interactives, collaborating with partners in Visual Design, User Experience Design, Research, Content Strategy, and the Exhibit design team, to understand the essence of each interactive experience, project Ideation / project Scoping / requirements vetting, guiding and developing junior and mid level developers, participate in hiring additional team members, strategic planning and development of a reusable code base, rapid prototyping (as needed) and participating constructively in inter-department communications.
