Designed as both an orientation center and community gathering place, the experience introduces the history of the San Antonio Missions while celebrating the people and cultures that continue to shape the region today. Interactive media, authentic objects, and layered interpretation provide multiple pathways for discovery.
Throughout the galleries guests discover the interconnected stories of Indigenous communities, Spanish missionaries, and generations of residents whose traditions continue to influence San Antonio’s cultural identity. The experience is anchored in the understanding that the Missions not only as historic landmarks, but living places with ongoing significance.
Architecture, landscape, and exhibition design work together to create a seamless visitor journey. From the moment guests arrive, the building itself becomes part of the storytelling, connecting indoor experiences with the surrounding World Heritage landscape and encouraging exploration beyond the museum walls.
